Hello everyone, I'm William Xu, the Co-founder of BTCDOMAIN. It's the 6th year for me in crypto field. I have been a Bitcoin Maxi for a long time. Before I building Dapp on Bitcoin Mainnet, I was a 4 years Bitcoin Miner. I'm also the Co-founder of Smart Bitcoin Labs, a Bitcoin-only Venture Studio.

BTCDomain is a domain name system within the Bitcoin ecosystem, with the .btc extension. It utilizes Ordinals technology and zk technology. By using Ordinals technology, the metadata of BTCDomain is permanently stored on the Bitcoin blockchain. Through zk technology, BTCDomain aims to achieve a zk version of the registration engine and resolver, allowing everyone to verify the program's "honesty" on their own computers and ensuring the trustworthiness of the entire process. The latest version has been launched today, introducing a series of optimizations such as bulk domain name purchase, domain name suggestion, and additional token payment functionality through MixPay. Currently, BTCDomain has a trading volume of 21 BTC on the secondary market, Magic Eden. In the future, it will provide social features such as decentralized personal websites (Think about a decentralized Facebook haha...)

Difference between BTCDOMAIN and .sats: BTCDOMAIN is the only domain provider that adopts a product model and design logic similar to ENS (Ethereum Name Service). We firmly believe that the product model and design logic of ENS are roughly in the right direction. A permanent and free domain name project like .sats would create many early beneficiaries, which is detrimental and unhealthy to the development of the project and community. Additionally, BTCDOMAIN offers more practical features compared to other free Bitcoin Ordinals domains, such as enhanced wallet resolution and decentralized personal websites.

If so, what factors would be taken into account to ensure compatibility with systems and devices while providing more flexibility in choosing domain names? Thank you

The product team of BTCDOMAIN is actively researching the expansion of character sets, including languages other than English and emojis. It should be noted that implementing domain names with languages and emojis other than English on Ordinals is more complex than on Ethereum because the metadata of the Inscriptions is fully stored on the chain. We will announce the findings at the appropriate time after completing the research.

I’d like to know how the uniqueness of every created domain will be achieved; whenever a new name is registered, how will BTCDOMAIN generate a signature and publish it to the BTC chain? What happens if a user tries to register a new inscription with an already registered name so as to avoid any forms of conflicts or confusion?

1) To illustrate the concept of uniqueness in BTC Domain, consider the following example: Suppose "abcd.btc" is registered on March 10th, 2023, and is set to expire on March 9th, 2024. Throughout this registration period, no other instance of "abcd.btc" should occur, maintaining the domain's uniqueness and preventing any potential conflicts or confusion among users. However, once the domain expires on March 9th, 2024, it becomes available for registration again. Consequently, a new registration of "abcd.btc" between March 10th, 2024, and March 9th, 2025 would be permissible, adhering to BTC Domain's uniqueness principle. To maintain the integrity of the uniqueness policy, BTC Domain incorporates a robust registration and verification system, ensuring that each domain name is exclusively assigned to one user within the specified registration period. This process helps to prevent any potential misuse of the platform and ensures that users can trust the authenticity and exclusivity of the domain names within the BTC Domain ecosystem.

2) The BTCDomain front-end (the app page) will show the registered name is unavailable and unable to proceed.

As i know ENS have period during which expired name is still available for owner to renew, for example one if my ENS already expired, but during two months i can still pay and recover my ownership. Do you have such option?

Do you have a plan to provide a feature to let the users integrate their own BTCDOMAIN to their own social platform ? What’s your opinion for social media to develop BTCDOMAIN ? And last question is, Can we own more than 1 Domain in our BTC Wallet ? Thank you

1) BTCDOMAIN team certainly hopes that everyone can change their social media platform names to their own domains. Many Twitter and Discord users have already changed their names to their owned ENS domains. Currently, it is up to each user's freedom, and we respect the freedom of every user.

2) We do have plans to reward users who change their social media platform names to their owned domains. However, we cannot disclose the timing and method of the rewards at this moment.

3) Just like ENS, your Bitcoin wallet can have multiple BTCDOMAINs.

I really hope that soon name.btc will be visible on the most of the social accounts!

I saw in your twitter post that BTCDomain version 0.4.1 is now live with some updates like xverseApp and unisatwallet But I didn't see that when I clicked on the "App" icon on your website. Can you explain what this update and version means? And also I didn't see any mobile or PC app. Do you have an app? If you do, what devices are they available on? And if you don't, are you planning to launch it anytime soon?

We have a 'Go To App' icon on the top our official site https://www.btcdomains.io/ Will lead you to our app page https://app.btcdomains.io/ when you click the icon. We do not have plan on mobile app neither on IOS or Android. However you can use BTCDomain web app in your XVerse mobile app.

Having clear goals is very important in a project. My question is: How many active users does BTCDOMAIN expect to have on its platform by the end of 2023? What are your estimates and aspirations in that regard?

We are expecting more than 50,000 inscriptions (domains) by the end of 2023.

In one of your Medium articles, I noticed that your platform mentions a ZK (Zero Knowledge) technology so that the entire resolution part is completely decentralized. I would like to know more about ZK technology and the main reason why you decided to go with ZK technology.

In order to ensure uniqueness and prevent malicious activity, we have incorporated cutting-edge Zero-Knowledge technology into our BTC domain project. We are using zero knowledge tech to promise the domain resolution fully decentralized, cause there is no smart contract could run in btc mainnet(it is a turing incomplete chain) and we didn't choose the multi-chain solutions. To make sure the whole doamain data storage and resolution based on btc mainnet, we use zero-knowledge tech(mathmatic solutions) to promise the process trustable and decentralized.
