Rocket Launchpad x Satoshi Club AMA Recap from 6th of August

Hello, Satoshi clubbers! Another AMA took place in Satoshi Club and we would like to introduce to you the AMA session with our friends from Rocket Launchpad and our guests were @ccfromspace and @Vaught – representatives of Rocket Launchpad . The AMA took place on 6th of August.

The total reward pool was 500$ and has been split into 3 parts.

In this AMA Recap, we will try to summarise the most interesting points for you.

Part 1 — introduction and questions from the Website

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Hello Satoshi Club! We are happy to announce our AMA session with Rocket Launchpad! Welcome to Satoshi Club😀

D. | Satoshi Club:
Today our guests – @ccfromspace and @Vaught !

Welcome to Satoshi club guys!

D. | Satoshi Club:
🚀🚀🚀🚀

Vaught:
Hey everyone! We are excited to be here!

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Happy to e-meet you 👍

How’s going?

Vaught:
We are doing well! Hard at work making sure we offer everyone the best product we can!

D. | Satoshi Club:
That’s awesome! are you ready to star our AMA? 😇

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Sure👍

Vaught: could you please introduce yourself and tell us more about Rocket Launchpad?🚀

Vaught:
We are ready and excited to get this going!

Sure. So my name is Josh Vaught and I am one of the co-founders of Rocket Launchpad. Kirk (onebalddude), Colin (ccfromspace) and I have been a part of Tezos for about 4 years now, since the ICO. We loved what Tezos had to offer, so we stuck around. Recently Defi on Tezos exploded, and we saw our chance to really engage and help grow the ecosystem. There were tons of builders looking to get their projects going, and we saw a great opportunity in creating a platform to give projects the boost they need.

This is where Rocket Launchpad comes in!

Mary | Satoshi Club:
How many team members do you have?😀

Vaught:
Currently we have 5 members. We actually have all of our team members listed on our site at https://rocketlaunchpad.io/. We have always been about transparency, and we felt that letting people see a face to a product was a big step in that

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Nice start👍🚀

How long were you developing your launchpad?

Vaught:
We started conceptualizing Rocket about 6 months ago. Tezos was just hitting its stride with DeFi around that time and we sort of started looking into it at that point. To test the waters, we worked a whimsical project called $FARM, a simple farming platform that featured monthly airdrops and the ability to experience farming on Tezos. We instantly fell in love with the simplicity and usability , combined with the very very low gas fees (mere cents). We met several other projects building at the time. In a month there were over fifty projects building and this is when we knew it was time to transition back to Rocket and start really building it out

Mary | Satoshi Club:
👍

D. | Satoshi Club:
Nice! so could you call yourself the first ‘launchpad project’ on Tezos? or Tezos already has similar projects?

Vaught:
We will be the first fully operational launchpad on Tezos

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Great! So blue sea of opportunities ahead 😀

Thank you for your intro! Are you ready to go to the questions from our community?😀

Vaught:
Absolutely. That is one of the exciting parts of this whole thing!

Yes! We are ready to go

D. | Satoshi Club:
Let’s go then! 🚀

Q1 from Telegram User @meml97
It came to my attention the fact that Rocket Launchpad was built on top of the Tezos blockchain, can you tell us more about it? Why did you decided to built your project on this blockchain that is not so popular? What kind of advantages does it provide to you as a project but most importantly what kind of advantages does Tezos allows you to provide to new projects as a Launchpad? With the fact that Tezos is not so popular in mind, will you integrate cross-chain interoperability to your platform to be able to get to more new promising projects and investors?

Vaught:
We have been Tezos holders since the ICO. Since the beginning we have loved what Tezos aspired to become. There were a couple rough beginnings, but Tezos made it through and here we are today! Tezos has become one of the fastest and cheapest blockchains in the business, but what makes it so special is how Tezos is run. Proof of Stake ensures that there is a next to non-existent carbon footprint to use it. Upgrades are proposed and voted on by bakers, which are those who drive the POS system. Upgrades happen with no forks or seamless, having next to no negative effect on the blockchain. Actually today Granada was just implemented, which put our blocktimes in half to 30 seconds! Building on Tezos just makes sense. With gas fees being pennies per transaction, projects don’t have to fear the effect of high cost transactions and more users can use the blockchain without fear of expensive failed transactions.

Also, if you look at contract calls, Tezos transactions have gone parabolic!

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Yes, it seems Tezos becomes more and more popular!

Vaught:
Here is a chart showing contract calls per month from: https://better-call.dev/stats/mainnet/general

As for cross-chain interoperability, it is 100% something we have already started looking into. With so much liquidity on chains like BSC and Ethereum, it only makes sense to ensure an easy onramp to Tezos and the Rocket Launchpad.

D. | Satoshi Club:
But don’t you think that transactions on Tezos might be more expensive in future if more and more people will be using it?

Is it hard to connect projects from other blockchains with Tezos? from the technical side.

Frank:
That definitely can happen, but if you look at recent upgrades happening continuously through Tezos governance process, gas fees have been lowered by more than a factor of 10x and block time has also lowered.

D. | Satoshi Club:
👍 welcome to Satoshi Club btw 😊

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Frank: we are happy to see you here 👍

Frank:
Tezos strength is the ability to upgrade and that has been evident in recent upgrades and even the one that happened today actually!

And thank you! Happy to be here!

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Thank you for your answers, guys! Do you want to add something or we can go to the next question 😊

Frank:
Vaught is typing up an answer to this right now 😁

Vaught:
So there is a cross-chain platform that exists on Tezos as well known as Wrap by Bender Labs. They have built a bridge that wraps wETH, UNI, LINK and several other tokens to be usable on Tezos

D. | Satoshi Club:
Got it! thank you for answer! 😊

Vaught:
Of course!

D. | Satoshi Club:
Ready for the next question?

Vaught:
Shoot it on over

Q2 from Telegram User @Highpee
$RCKT has a maximum supply of $500,000,000 and it is your platform utility token. However, yesterday you announced the launch of another token $rkDAO as your governance token. $rkDAO will have a maximum supply of 100,000 and it will be distributed in the ratio 75% to Community and 25% to team. Why is it necessary to have a governance token which is separate from your platform main token? Also, governance token will not be sold but farmed by $RCKT holders and the farm will only run for 1 year. How will you ensure the team will not also farm from the community allocation after farm is live and What will happen after 1 year if you are unable to completely distribute all the community allocation within this period ? And for late adopters that joined Rocket launchpad after 1 year of launch, does it mean they can’t be part of DAO since the distribution farm would have ended by then? Would this fair?

Vaught:
There are two main reasons to have two separate coins, legal compliance as well as wide spread distribution.

For legal compliance, we have communicated with our consultants and legal team and came to the conclusion that having governance inside of our utility token could lead to it becoming deemed a security token. There is no reason to risk that up front, so instead we found a way to distribute the coins to early supporters through an airdrop and allowing individuals to farm $rkDAO from day one. With that, farming is one of the best ways to distribute a coin widely to those that support the platform and own RCKT.

As for the DAO, we have already begun exploring options. There are two projects building DAOs on Tezos and we hope to begin integrating with one by the end of this year. As for the distribution of the DAO after the year of farming, if you wish to participate in the DAO you could always purchase tokens on any exchange it is listed on. We will have it listed on Quipuswap (Tezos based DEX) https://quipuswap.com/.

D. | Satoshi Club:
👍 and also could you explain the utility of $RCKT on your platform? which functions will it serve?

Mary | Satoshi Club:
What about team? Will you farm?😊

Frank:
Our team will not be farming any token from the platform. Our holdings will be locked and unable to be used for at least 6 months. Even after that 6 months, we have decided as a team to not farm as it would be unfair to our users.

Vaught:
$RCKT has several difference uses!

-Can be staked it to earn 30% APY
-Used to stake to qualify for our IDO Tiers (aka Rover Missions)
-Can be used to farm $rkDAO

We also have another exciting feature that we have yet to announce, but hey, what better time than now! We will be introducing something called an IFO (initial Farm Offering). We will be releasing an article on this shortly on Medium, so make sure you are watching out for that. It is going to add a whole other toolset to Rocket Launchpad

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Happy to hear! Honest strategy 👍

Thank you for your answers! Ready to proceed?😀

Vaught:
Go ahead we are ready

Q3 from Telegram User @Cheriemike
It is stated that the more $RCKT a user stakes, the more chances they will have to gain presale access to a launch pool. All $RCKT tokens staked on the platform will be locked for 10 days. After 10 days, all $RCKT tokens can be unstaked. However, every time you unstake and stake your $RCKT tokens, they are locked for 10 days. My question is,In order to stake on Rocket Launchpad,a user need to hold what minimum of your token? Will there be any third party service, allowing small coin holders to delegate small $RCKT quantities,if yes which third party is Rocket Launchpad using for proper identity verification and why?And what is the price range for annual percentage yield on staking $RCKT?

Vaught:
Yes, the 10 days staking lock is correct for when you stake in a tier. In order to participate in the IDOs, you will have to stake at least 25,000 $RCKT to qualify for the first tier. All additional staking services will happen on our site through our smart contracts!

We do use Synaps KYC service for verifying our users.

The APY for the farm will be 30%.

Frank:
As for the tiers, I think this is a good time to drop our one pager! At the bottom you will see tiers.
You can also find this information on our website https://rocketlaunchpad.io

Mary | Satoshi Club:
So, even if user will hold 25k RCKT he will need to pass KYC verification?

Frank:
to participate in an IDO, yes!

We have had many many chats with our consultants and legal team to make sure we are compliant and here for the long run.

D. | Satoshi Club:
I like how you named each tier 😁👍

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Gotcha!

Frank:
All @Vaught on the tier names 😂

D. | Satoshi Club:
@Vaught quite original 👏

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Thank you for your answers! Ready to jump to the next question, guys?😀

Frank:
We are ready to go!

Q4 from Telegram User @Arisabela
I could see an ad about people who already KYC on your site and who automatically entered a whitelist, is this the only way to enter the whitelist? Do you have a link to access? When are your first presales planned and what advantages will whitelisted users have?

D. | Satoshi Club:
Partially answered 😉

Vaught:
Love that question! We are a fully KYC compliant IDO launchpad. With that, we have partnered with the industry leader Synaps to provide this service. Rest assured they take your personal data seriously and have made the process to KYC extremely simple. If you want to gain access to the RCKT token sale or any IDO token sale, we do require you to KYC.

You can KYC directly from this link: https://rocketlaunchpad.synaps.io/
Or from our launchpad for the RCKT token here: https://app.rocketlaunchpad.io/projects/bd25adc5-8f70-40d0-a96d-a55c3d03fb30

Our first GIF IDO is scheduled for Aug 28th! You can read more about GIF here: https://gif.games/

D. | Satoshi Club:
I think i have heard about Synaps 🤔 definitely we are pretty familiar.

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Good luck with your first IDO🚀

Thank you for your answers! Ready to jump to the next question?😀

Vaught:
Absolutely

Frank:
Thank you! It is an amazing project and we are all excited to see it grow. gif.games

Q5 from Telegram user @NataliyaKil
On your site, I found the opportunity to apply for the launch of my project for me! What does the whole process look like after I submit the completed form? How long does it take to consider an application? What requirements should my project meet, what do you pay attention to in the first place, what conditions should I fulfill and what are your actions in the future?

Vaught:
So happy you are interested in submitting your project through our submission form! We have been meeting with projects daily and the first thing we look at is simply what are you building and can you or your team actually make that a reality. To make that decision, we look at the workload expected followed by the qualifications of the team.

Next, are you building a defi product, a game, or something entirely new? Also, make sure you have good documentation or a whitepaper ready to go when suggesting a project. We need to know you have actually put in effort to make this project and are serious about bringing it to life.

From there, we provide support for the following:

-Tokenomic review and consultation
-Token sale smart contract creation

  • Utility token creation
  • Token distribution through smart contract
  • Marketing to Rocket Launchpad’s user base through Twitter, Reddit, Telegram and Discord promotions
  • Adding your token to the Quipuswap exchange
  • Providing liquidity to the Quipuswap exchange

Mary | Satoshi Club:
What are the reasons you can reject a project? Do you take any responsibility if a project will fail or scam its users? As you know scam isn’t always ‘rug pull’, it can be soft scam😀

D. | Satoshi Club:
By the way, I’m curious if teams can stay anons if they would like, or KYC from them is compulsory?

Frank:
As list in our documentation page https://docs.rocketlaunchpad.io, we do force projects to add liquidity for their token pair and lock that liquidity in a smart contract for a certain amount of time. Therefore, rug pulls cannot happen for that period of time.

As for scams, we also have project members KYC. If a project decides to do a “soft” scam, we will have all of their personal information and will immediately report them to the authorities. In the future, we want to create an insurance fund and that is planned for Q4.

Frank:
We will not allow anonymous teams. We have made that decision early on. There are too many teams contacting us right now and no need to take that risk

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Perfect 👍

Thank you for your answers! Ready to go to the 6th and last question from this part?

Vaught:
Fire away

Q6 from Telegram user @yellowchamp
On your Roadmap 4th quarter of 2021,you plan to incorporate a Baking service IDO funding pool. So,can you explain to us more about this Baking service IDO funding pool that you are going to launch in Rocket? How will this Baking service works and how it will be implemented in your platform? Why is there a need of IDO funding pool with your Baking service? Literally, what will be the utilization and allocation for the fund that will be getting from the Baking Service IDO funding pool? Thank you

Vaught:
With Tezos, if you run a node that verifies transactions and blocks, you are considered a baker. Individuals can delegate their staking rights to bakers and earn around 5.5% of the XTZ they have staked every baking cycle (3 days) from their XTZ holdings. We recently started a baking node and plan to open up the service to individuals in a couple months. Instead of receiving XTZ every 3 days like normal, we would store that XTZ until we have a certain amount saved up. At that point we would use those funds to participate in an IDO for everyone delegating to our baker. Simply put, you can participate in an IDO simply by delegating to us. We are still finalizing and figuring out how we will allow users to select what project to invest in and how much XTZ should be built before participating in an IDO, but the idea is extremely exciting to us and we can’t wait to see it in action.

Part 2 — live questions from the Telegram community

Q1 from Telegram user @Nhairym
Who is in charge of selecting and defining which are the best projects and through which procedures determine it, because it is important for you that Rocket does not handle funds, as will the evaluation process that you will use to later make the necessary improvements and achieve that the user experience is safe, fast, reliable, simple and completely decentralized?

Frank:
Our entire team meets and discusses potential projects. It is a full team decision. We ensure that we do not touch funds and our smart contract handles the entire process. We want the process as trustless as possible!

Q2 from Telegram user @Hermbh28
I am thinking to bring my own project for IDO. So what are requirements do I need to full fill? I mean fee and other structures?

Vaught:
We would love to have talks with you! If you check out https://docs.rocketlaunchpad.io/launching-your-project/submitting-your-project it details everything we are looking for. We charge a 2.5% fee of the total funds raised and that is the only fee we charge! its all about helping projects on Tezos.

Q3 from Telegram user @Akira236
I am really excited for the upcoming Pre-sale,
What tokens can we use for purchasing?
Is there a KYC process?

Colin:
We are going to of course accept Tezos $XTZ, and the stablecoin $kUSD. There is a KYC process. You can check it all out on our website!

https://app.rocketlaunchpad.io/projects/bd25adc5-8f70-40d0-a96d-a55c3d03fb30

Q4 from Telegram user @Ajpaa
How strong is your marketing to grow project?

Frank:
We have recently pushed advertisements in all the major outlets, Cointelegraph, yahoo, MarketWatch, and 100s of others. See here for example https://cointelegraph.com/press-releases/decentralized-ido-platform-rocket-launchpad-launches-into-the-tezos-ecosystem

We plan to keep rolling these press releases out with major news and continue AMAs.

Tezos also has xtz.news and we often push information there.

Q5 from Telegram user @TheKop9
Are you in discussion with projects to be launched on Rocket already or are you not there yet? Could you elaborate?

Vaught:
We actually do have projects lined up and ready to launch. We don’t want to elaborate too in-depth, as we want to make sure those projects get the spotlight when it is their time to shine. With our token sale happening this week, we plan to slowly announce the next projects and not let our presale marketing strategy interfere with our launched projects.

Q6 from Telegram user @K2ice
How does Rocket Launchpad address the issue of users not getting KYCd on time before deadline?

Colin:
If users are having issues with their KYC, we are going through and manually checking their verification to ensure everyone who submitted KYC can participate if eligible!

Q7 from Telegram user @Smartling
How does Rocket provide support for Tokenomic review and consultation?

Frank:
We see dozens of projects and are pretty aware of what can work and what simply will not.
We work with teams to provide feedback and actual revisions of documentation and tokenomics. We are not extremists when it comes to this process, but we do voice our opinion.

We want teams to be successful. If teams are successful then that means Rocket is successful and RCKT token holders will benefit.

Q8 from Telegram user @coinresearcher
Where is $RCKT token listed right now and how can I buy it? Can I buy it with my metamask?

Vaught:
$RCKT is not trading right now. Our presale starts 07 Aug @1000 and runs until 15 Aug. After the final presale ends, we will add liquidity to Quipuswap and the token will begin trading. You will not be able to use Metamask, as that is an ETH-based wallet. The best wallet to use is the Temple wallet located here https://templewallet.com/. It integrates with a ledger and is a great and easy wallet to use.

Q9 from Telegram user @csgonub
There are two coins on Rocket Launchpad $RCKT and $rkDAO which one is better to invest for the long term?

Colin:
$RCKT and $rkDAO have very different utilities! $RCKT is going to be the primary token to participate in IDOs.

$rkDAO is our governance token. It will allow the community to make and vote on changes to the platform. It will also be used in the future to earn a portion of fees generated from the Rocket Launchpad!

Q10 from Telegram user @BJosefina61
Projects intended as security tokens may not be listed on Rocket; Does this mean that you are focused on projects with UTILITY tokens concept?

Frank:
This is exactly correct. We are launchpad-focused utility tokens only! Security tokens are reserved for security platforms and regulated by organizations like the SEC.

We have a token framework we utilize to ensure we only list utility tokens.

Part 3 – Quiz Results

In the final part, we tested your knowledge in terms of Rocket Launchpad. They’ve prepared 4 questions for this part. The total reward pool for the quiz was 300$.
