Mark Canavan: Greenheart is a CBDtech company that myself Mark Canavan and Paul Walsh

For the past three years, the Greenheart team has been building out a global model focusing on producing CBD (the legal derivative of hemp) and is now targeting increased CBD cultivation by farmers worldwide. The company started selling its products in Jan 2020 – and is now profitable and has over 2,500 customers.

The focus of the Greenheart CBD project is to help the 2 billion underserved that live on < $2 dollars a day – to help them improve their income and their families standard of living by switching to CBD farming.

The primary concept is based on a DeFi platform to increase farmers’ income across the world – by providing them with direct access to loan funding for CBD production.

By leveraging our advanced Artificial Intelligence Drone technology and Big Data analytics, we will be able to maximize returns from CBD cultivation, providing farmers with much higher income compared to existing agricultural crops.

Farmers and the underserved in the developing world cannot access traditional bank finance and Tokenization is a way to raise community funding to provide funding to these forgotten 2 Billion and initially farmers to switch over to CBD cultivation.

The CBD industry is one of the fastest growing retail segments globally. Forbes estimates the global market for CBD will reach $20 billion by 2024 but banks aren’t lending to producers to switch to growing hemp (especially in the poor world). So we are stepping in to provide the funding.

Greenheart is a really well known brand inside the CBD world, being at this point one of the most popular and best ones in Europe. Now, you’ve decided to launch your own token and get into the cryptocurrency world, may I know why? What pushed you to take this decision of releasing a token when your company was doing really great with traditional payments methods? Where do you want to go now with a token of your own? Also, the announcement of this token was last year and we still haven’t seen much about it, are there any delays on your plans? When will we see it listed in other exchanges besides DigiFinex?

Mark Canavan: We decided to release a crypto currency to tackle the problems within the industry that we were seeing

Farmers have no access to funding as it is outside of the norms for traditional banks

We have access to superior technologies that we are introducing to farmers and the underserved

We are a very community focussed and we love to help people and bring them on the success and exciting journey with us

Our token also opens us to true fully chain data collection, this fits into our circular economy model

Is it only for Ireland or can any user even using the GREENHEART PUNT token be able to purchase products?

Mark Canavan: We are break the American market this year building out a production facilty over there

We are also working on distribution through south africa, Australia and Europe

Paul Co Founder: Uniphar – One of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and retail distributors (revenues $1.8 Billion) with distribution into 200 countries, supplying the Greenheart range of CBD products in pharmacies across Europe – initially focusing on the UK and Ireland – before expanding to North America and Asia Pacific. I researched about CBD oil and found out it is used for anxiety and depression and also good for headaches. As you focused on farming and making CBD oil you need cannabis plant. As I know and as most people knows about them in media, hemp plants are not legal. But I see it is allowed in some cases. Can you share which kind of cannabis plants are you working on for agriculture? And what are the legal details about farming them?

Mark Canavan: Hemp is a highly regulated plant

We cultivate iunder licence through the HPRA

This a Europe wide organisation

Each region has it own local laws around this

We grew a strain known as Finola last year

Hemp is related to true cannabis although it carries low THC content

We have a legal limit on THC here in Europe for cultivation at 0.2%

Mary | Satoshi Club:So, if your products buying is restricted in my country i won’t be able to purchase them from the very beginning?

Mark Canavan: We can only grow strains in Europe that are listed on an EU commissions list, that means that partners on other continents can allow us to diversify further in our research

This is first our first year to roll out these partnerships and we have got a good global scope already.
