Introduce yourself please. How did you get to be involved in crypto & Wasder?
Thomas Wasder: Sure thing!
My name is Thomas, I am the CEO and founder of Wasder.gg
I’ve been in the gaming industry for along time now, almost 15 years. Where I’ve worked in major publishers like EA (Electronic Arts), and I’ve been the community liaison for Age of Conan at Funcom, for over a million players.
In the more recent years, I’ve gone the sales journey from sales rep, to sales director, corporate mergers and acquisitions, before i started my own companies and moved into investments.
Then I finally founded Wasder, which is my dream company, and the heart of my businesses, as its a combination of the gaming industry which I love, but with the billion dollar business potential and super investors! So I love what I do now.

Sam: The reason I both invested and joined is because the team is one of the best I’ve seen.
Thomas Wasder: So Wasder is a “mainstream” company in many ways, we’ve been around since 2017, and have billionaire investors, hedgefunds, silicon valley money, apple executive investors, some of the biggest family offices from Singapore, and sweden.
So we’ve established ourselves as a company.
And, the team we have right now, is around 22 people fulltime, and we are hiring another 16

WASDER – very unique name, I have a guess, it is coming from the most often used gaming keys WASD, am I close ? Could you share some details about the games that you have on the Wasder platform, what are the genres and how many games are there? Did your dev team develop all of the games or are you allowing 3d party games to be integrated with your platform? Do you provide cross platform gaming for both PC client and mobile app users?

Thomas Wasder: So our platform is built as a gaming ecosystem and social platform, that means for us that ALL games is relevant, and thats also the strength of our platform. Right now, we have about 50 000 different games in the platform that people can talk about, match with others (party play) to find people to play with, and build communities around. We are ALWAYS looking to integrate and partner with publishers to add more to the platform.
Thomas Wasder: Wasder is currently out on web, iOS and Android – and getting amazing feedback. We are currently sitting at over 60% retention rates, which is industry leading for a social platform
Sam: Wasder is the social ecosystem that connects gamers on web/mobile, so while we don’t develop games, you will be able to talk to people that love the same games as you on there, or even connect with the game devs and publishers if they are registered.
Thomas Wasder: And we are continuing to develop our game spaces to make them absolutely revolutionary for this industry.
Our goal is that users kind of see us as a smartphone – a place to go to find all their favorite functions and content, just within gaming. That makes us the perfect partners for every gaming developer.

Thomas Wasder: So Sami will cover the event part!
The VIP’s in this case is higher ranked streamers, publishers, and influencers. And also some super stars that we have working with us in Wasder.
Technically, anyone can become a VIP / verified user, as long as they live up to the requirements for that, like instagram & twitter. There’s a process with us to verify that people are who they say, and that they are influencers of value
Sam: Absolutely. We have some really cool events planned for our members – think streamers/gamers/influencers and challenging them to a game. We’re also talking to several big music artists about coming in and performing on a stream, and then challenging our users to a game of their choice.
Thomas Wasder: What we are thinking around the community leaderboards – is that we want to reward the most active users within communities, both player made communities (so internal guild leaderboards), but also communities like specific games!
Thomas Wasder: Imagine insteaf of having to become a proffesional esporter, your guild or team of friends, can challenge another guild of your choice to a “battle” in your favorite game, and the winner walks away with tokens and rewards

Sam: both! As long as it’s related to gaming

Thomas Wasder: So; first off – because we are a “mainstream” swedish company with institutional investors, we need to make sure that we are ALWAYS following laws and regulations
Thomas Wasder: But, there’s also the issue that our industry has never been “great” at this
Thomas Wasder: We want to make sure that we are industry leading on 3 things

Thomas Wasder: We will always make sure that we comply with the regulations around the world on data privacy, as well as the needs of users at any given time. While creating a safe and inclusive environment for gamers

Thomas Wasder: That being said – There will be safety mechanics put in place to ensure that criminal activity & societal issues are not possible in our ecosystem, through automated systems

Thomas Wasder: And since gamers use “gaming nicknames” its a challenging issue
Thomas Wasder: We are looking into how we can become the first in the world to do this right

After downloading your app, I discovered I needed to sign up by providing email credentials and bio-information before I could use your app. I tried to see if I could manage the information provided or even delete my account, but am unable to do so because such functions is not available in the app. So, how are users data stored or kept in the app? What parts of user information are available for public? Why can’t a user change email or delete his account information? In addition, how do I set my payment details and connect my payment wallet to wasdar app and what functions of this app are executed on the blockchain?
Thomas Wasder: Great question
Thomas Wasder: So, the reason why we TEMPORARILY removed the manual deletion of accounts, is actually because we are integrating a third party service that works exclusively with data privacy.
Thomas Wasder: So that when users delete their accounts, we permanently remove the records
Thomas Wasder: Right now, any user who emails us, we will manually do the work with devs
Thomas Wasder: But it was to make sure that we can have a verified, third party software handle the entire process for us
Thomas Wasder: Right now, you cant connect your blockchain / crypto wallets to Wasder, that is coming. Most likely within the next few months

Thomas Wasder: Right now, voice is not available. However, its on our VERY VERY VERY near future roadmap. We will make voice available inside “party chats”, meaning the conversations that you make with people that you match with in the matchmaking service, and for your closest group of friends.
For bigger communities, we know Discord does extremely well, but we want to make voice chats easier to access and more fun for everyone.

Our matchmaking (party play) function – is build to allow you to search for anyone who plays your favorite game, and its the same with our social feeds. We sort content based on a HUGE database of games, and we’ve added 50 000 games so far. But thats just the beginning. Any game with a social nature, will eventually be in our database, and we add tons of games every week.
over time, we will more deeply integrate with each individual game, but that depends on our community + which partnerships we make!

My favorite game designer of all time is Raph Koster – and his entire philosophy is based on transparency and close communication with the audience.
its absolutely crucial for us to have our “finger on the pulse”, so our database, our community team, our devs, even our executive team is always on the platform on a daily basis, checking feedback and conversations for how we build.
We also communicate our visions months in advance, to get early input and make the best project out there.
When I was at EA, this was the part i hated the most. I hated how “out of touch” with gamers we were on a corporate basis, and I swore never to let that happen here.

Thomas Wasder: Wasder uses crypto and blockchain as a way to support the rest of our product and offering. That means that crypto & blockchain touches on everything we do, but we see it as a support mechanism for a “normal” product offering.
